 Sarah Boone is an African American inventor.Sarah Boone is most known for inventing the ironing board on December 30 1887.Sarah Boone was born in New Haven, Conneticuit. She made an improvement of the ironing board in 1892. She was also the first African American to get a U.S. patent.Sarah Boone invented a device to help iron clothing. Ironing clothing was complicated in the 1800s and many people came up with ideas on ways to improve the process. Her invention was the predecessor to the modern ironing board. It was made of a narrow wooden board, with collapsible legs and a padded cover.Sarah Boone's ironing board was designed to be effective in ironing the sleeves and bodies of ladies' garments.This invention impacted the world because it made clothing look better and it also helped women and men clothing.I also think that Sarah Boone's invention helped a lot of Americans out for when they wanted to dress up and stuff like that i guess.Sarah Boone.
